Position Title:

Accounts Executive

The Accounts Executive will be responsible to manage full accounting cycle at NEGFIRE. This will include – verifying bills/invoices, payment disbursements, bank operations, preparing TDS returns, cash management, data-entry of all financial transactions timely and accurately, etc.. She/He will also do all the documentation and filing of financial documents for official /statutory records.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining books of accounts in Tally ERP9 software by complying with the accounting systems and procedures and Statutory requirements.

  • Verification and passing of bills/invoices with thorough scrutiny as per the TOR & Agreement of consultants/vendors; and as per the organisations policies and practices

  • Verify the authenticity of the vouchers received from the field and book it in the appropriate head after due approval 

  • Preparation of Tally vouchers with proper budget codes & cost centres for the expenses. 

  • Review of all advance payments and follow-ups for bills settlements

  • Maintain cash book and tally cash on daily basis

  • Preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements on monthly basis

  • Generating financial reports as per the need of the organization

  • Proper deduction of TDS, Professional tax, P.F., and timely deposit the same.

  • Providing appropriate and timely finance inputs and support to the programme staff to ensure to implement the activities as per the agreed plan.

  • Prepare monthly expenditure statements

  • Maintenance of both electronic and hard copies of financial reports including vouchers, receipts and supporting documents.

  • Assist in closure entries including all month and year end journal entries.

  • Assist in preparation and finalization of quarterly and annual tax returns

  • Assist in statutory auditing requirements

Required Competencies:

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Min. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/ Finance

  • Min. 3 years of hands-on experience in accounting in an NGO is essential

Knowledge and Skills


  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, and rules as per law and application of the same

  • Ability to work independently on Tally ERP 9

  • Sound working Knowledge of MS Offices, and Advance functions of Excel,

  • Ability to work with minimum guidance

  • Eye for detail when verifying bills, vouchers and making payments Accuracy in data entry

  • Proven track record of making statutory payments like TDS, IT, EPF, ESI, etc.

  • Working knowledge of English

  • Ability to work independently and in a Team

Travel Requirements: The accountant will be required to undertake local travel in Delhi for Bank transactions work, and outstation travel to support program team in remote areas, as and when the department needs.


Salary and Benefits: In range ofRs. 20,000/- and26,450/-; per month, depending upon candidates’ skills, experience and current/last drawn salary. Staff benefits such as – PF, EDLI, Gratuity, Group Medical and Personal Accidental Insurance, reimbursement of monthly mobile bills, are also provided.
