About AFC

AFC India Ltd. (formerly Agricultural Finance Corporation) is a National level premier multi-disciplinary development organization providing consulting, policy advocacy and implementation support for agriculture, rural development and other strategic socio-economic domains in India. Established way back in the year 1968, AFC is wholly owned by NABARD, Commercial Banks and EXIM Bank. AFC is a deemed Government organization and its accounts are audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).

About AFC Foundation

AFC Foundation has been set up by AFC India Limited under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 as a non-profit organization to address the multifaceted development challenges of the country. AFC Foundation has been designated as a "Centre of Excellence (CoE)” by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) and acts as the key bridge that facilitates direct community transformation through capacity building and thematic interventions on one hand and informs policies and facilitates market systems change on the other through evidence-based mechanisms.

AFC has recently been empaneled by NABARD and NCDC as Cluster Based Business Organization (CBBO) for formation and promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in ten (10) States under the new Flagship Programme of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India for promotion of 10K FPOs across the country. AFC has earlier been empanelled by National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) as Cluster Based Business Organization (CBBO) for the formation and promotion of 13 FPOs in the States of Gujarat (9 nos.) and Chhattisgarh (4 nos.).

AFC has established an International Centre of Producer Collectives to undertake the formidable task of establishing the sustainable producer collectives across the country as the key institutional vehicles for farmer socio – economic development. AFC Ltd and AFC Foundation will work in tandem to build knowledge, competence and excellence across different domain areas of producer collective.

AFC is looking to appoint an Agri Value Chain Expert. S/he shall be responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring all mobilization, value chain and marketing activities. S/he shall coordinate and collaborate with partners and community-based organizations working on FPO handholding to leverage project resources, avoid duplication of efforts and ensure complementarities. S/he shall supervise and monitor implementation of value chain activities with a focus on improving crops, fisheries and livestock diversification, productivity processing and input-output market enhancement. In addition to this, s/he shall provide technical guidance and capacity building trainings for implementing partners and local institutions. S/he shall work closely with key stakeholders to coordinate the overall implementation of value chain component of the CBBO projects. S/he shall work with the field team to map value chain including main actors, flow of products, infrastructure facilities, financial institutions and all supporting organizations. S/he shall conduct value chain assessment to identify gaps and develop recommendations on how to improve the selected value chains and maximize the impact.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Exceptional academic track record with premiere management institutions in India in field of Economics / Social Sciences / Rural Management / MBA.
• 6-10 years of managerial experience with Reputed Indian/ International NGOs, Corporate Foundations (Implementing projects), Consulting firms and / or Multilateral agencies / Bilateral agencies
• Direct Project Implementation Management experience with NGOs, Government Agencies, Consulting firms in Rural Development domains including Farmer Producer Organizations, Agriculture Value Chain Development, Local Economic Development Programs, Micro Enterprise Development, Natural Resource Management etc
• This role requires a mix of startup attitude and complex multitasking abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively to field

Remuneration: Remuneration will commensurate with experience and skill set and would be comparable to the best in the industry.
