Job Description

The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm's business strategies, reflect our values and support the communities where we do business. The Division includes Global Philanthropy (GP), Global Government Relations and Public Policy, the JPMorgan Chase Institute and Sustainable Finance.

J.P. Morgan is looking to fill a Philanthropy Associate role in the Global Philanthropy team which will contribute to the development, management and implementation of the firm’s philanthropic programs in India (coverage market); monitoring, reporting and data management related to the grant portfolio in India including that to support CSR compliance.

Job Responsibilities

Implement, manage, monitor, report on key flagship initiatives spanning employability, entrepreneurship and rural development 

  • Ensure yearly targets are met in adherence with pre-defined budgets

  • End to end ownership of programme management and problem-solving when required

  • Manage relationships with existing partners, build new relationships with new partners spanning stakeholder groups (government, non-profits, social enterprises, like minded corporates)

  • Deliver on scaling plans for key initiatives

  • Continuously learn from and adapt to changes in the external environment

  • Work closely with colleagues across functions to communicate impact and progress

Design and roll out new programmes

  • Strategize, build and roll out new programmes that deliver social impact while aligning with core business capabilities

  • Conduct needs assessments, and impact assessments, as required

  • Consult with and influence key internal and external stakeholders to get inputs and buy-in

Ensure highest standards of due diligence, CSR compliance, and governance for 1 Group company (approx. annual budget of INR 6 CR)

  • Conduct due diligence as per SOPs

  • Ensure complete compliance with CSR Rules, and stay up to date on any changes

  • Manage all communication to and approval request made to CSR Committee

  • Create quarterly updates for investors and Board

  • Monthly budget controls

Manage the Group-wide cloud-based CSR MIS platform

  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) between G&G team and the MIS platform provider

  • Ensure all CSR programmes are being reported on the MIS platform

  • Create relevant dashboards on the MIS platform

  • Monitor usage and effectiveness of the platform, making changes as required

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Masters Degree in Development

Experience

  • Must have 6 to 8 years of work experience (post-graduation)

Skills Required

Functional capabilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing and monitoring employability/ skills development/ entrepreneurship programmes in India, working with non-profits and other relevant stakeholders

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills with proficiency in the Microsoft office products suite

  • Good understanding of landscape of social change, and particularly employability/ entrepreneurship/ livelihoods in India

  • Ability to effectively design and manage large scale projects spread across geographies

  • Collaborative with the ability to work with teams of individuals across levels, functions and businesses

  • Self-motivated, reflective, creative thinker with a passion to be at the centre of change

Leadership Capabilities

  • Influencing – Ability to work with a diverse operating network across businesses and external partners, and drive change through processes, capability building and communication

  • Communication and facilitation – Ability to effectively conduct training workshops and leverage all channels of communication to engage and educate stakeholders on the core Employability programmes
