(MSF)/Doctors Without Borders is an international, independent,
medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to
people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made
disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
We have been
present in India since 1999 providing free-of-charge essential
healthcare to people in remote areas, and specialist care for
people affected by HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, hepatitis C, antibiotic
resistance, tuberculosis, kala azar and sexual and gender-based
violence. MSF was awarded the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace,
Disarmament and Development in 1996 and the Nobel Peace Prize in
COVID-19 emergency intervention
we are facing a new global challenge. Doctors Without Borders
India teams are racing to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in over
70 countries, including opening new projects in areas that are
becoming pandemic hotspots. In India, Maharashtra has more COVID
cases in the country. The rising number of confirmed cases
especially in the outside Mumbai requires more focused approaches
Borders India(DWBI) has initiated an assessment around mid-May in
the State of Maharashtra for Covid-19 pandemic during the second
wave as the State had highest number of infection in the country.
An explo team made an assessment in several places including
Palghar district, Maharashtra which is a newly founded district in
2014. Palghar district has tribal population and varali paintings
are very popular showing tribal heritage. Based on the outcome
from the assessment, Doctors Without Borders India proposed to
support Jawahar and Dahanu Dedicated Covid Health Centre (DCHC)
and 4 Primary Health Centres under Jawahar taluk for mild and
moderate Covid patients in screening and triage among the
beneficiaries of the regular health programs and strengthen
community prevention/shielding through health promotion packages
for high risk population.
This is an intervention under

Main purpose of the role

Monthly Gross Salary: INR 28,263.00
