SPYM has worked with Govt. agencies i.e. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India etc. along with Multilaterals agencies like World Bank, UN agencies like UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNAIDS, UNODC etc., bilateral agencies like DfID, USAID, CIDA etc.

State Technical Support Unit:

SPYM is setting up the State Technical Support Unit (STSU) for the State of West Bengal to support the State in implementation of Tuberculosis Intervention as part of National Tuberculosis Elimination Program. STSU will help guide the State TB Cell (STC), District TB Officers (DTOs) and City Health administrators in planning and implementation of activities leading towards TB eliminationas envisioned by 2025. Key areas of support are:
a) Support the state in implementing the engagement of Service Providers in private sector, NGOs and untapped areas.
b) Contract management with Private sector & NGO sector
c) Monitoring & Evaluation
d) Capacity building and Technical Support

SPYM invites application for the post of Capacity Building Expert – State Technical Support Unit (STSU):

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

About the Position: Responsible for training needs assessment, planning and organising training for the service providers along with developing e-training materials for various cadres of staff and officers, digital data management etc.

Job Responsibilities:
o Provide technical support State TB Cell and build capacity of State in producing information from reported data and use of such information in programme monitoring and decision making
o Assist State TB Cell in the preparation of quarterly and annual NTEP performance reports of state
o Provide technical assistance to State TB Cell for deployment of ICT based treatment adherence systems across the country
o Assist State TB Cell in developing e-training materials for various cadres of staff and officers
o Provide support to the program at all levels in effective digital data management, validation, analysis and its application to guide policies and actions
o Provide support for facilitating introduction of new initiatives to strengthen patient support systems including universal access, social protection.
o Perform other duties as required by State TB Officer (STO) in the interest of TB Elimination in the State.

Qualification& Experience:
o Post Graduate or Higher Degree in Community Medicine/ Preventive & Social Medicine/ PGDHM (2 Yrs Full Time-AICTE approved) / Life Sciences/ Social Sciences, from a recognized university/ Institute.
o Minimum of 10 years of experience in public health programmes, out of which the candidate should have minimum 5 years national or state level experience in handling similar projects such as TSU/ program surveillance data, and/ or capacity building, or equivalent.
o Desirable: Experience in TB programs, already located in the State of West Bengal.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities typically needed to perform this job:
o Good communication skills and proficiency in English & Hindi preferably.
o Ability to undertake & deliver on the above responsibilities and tasks.
o Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
o Flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a team and cope with pressure and challenges.
o Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work independently as well as part of an effective team.
o Willingness to travel extensively in West Bengal.
o Previous experience in the state is desirable.

Salary: Salary will commensurate with experience and shall be at par with current standards.
