About Us: INCLEN is an international health research organisation dedicated to improving the health of populations by promoting equitable health care based on the best evidence of effectiveness and the efficient use of resources. INCLEN undertakes collaborative, inter-disciplinary research on high proirity health problems.

INCLEN has set up a demographic and environmental surveillance sites (SOMAARTH-DDESS) in Palwal and Bareilly and is in the process of establishing such a site in Mawphlang and Sohiong blocks of District East Khasi Hills (Meghalaya). INCLEN is seeking applications for the position of ‘Community Engagement Specialist’ for coordinating research and surveillance activities. The appointments will be made as annual rolling contracts.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The incumbent is expected to perform the following tasks:

1. Coordinate community engagement activities at the field site
2. Carry out stakeholder mapping in the context of tribal community and research projects that will be implemented in the area
3. Liaise with various stakeholders in the community before, during and after project implementation to ensure their involvement and cooperation
4. Plan and conduct community outreach activities, as and when required
5. Prepare project specific community engagement plan and communication strategy
6. Travel extensively in the site area to interact with and facilitate interaction of project teams with local community

Essential requirements:

1. Qualifications: Masters/MPhil/PhD in Anthropology/Social Sciences with at least 2 years of prior experience in working in a tribal community in North East India
2. Readiness to relocate to Mawphlang
3. Good written communication and presentation skills.
4. Working knowledge of Khasi language

Remuneration: The incumbent will be compensated in terms of salary and designation comparable to industry standards.
