REACH is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against Tuberculosis (TB), with offices in Chennai and New Delhi. As part of the Global Fund grant to India for 2021-24, REACH will implement Unite to ACT (Amplifying Community Action for TB elimination) as a sub-recipient to the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics India (FIND India). The goal of the Unite to ACT project is to accelerate efforts towards TB elimination in India by unifying and scaling up community action for TB through a cohesive community-led response. The project will be implemented in 10 states, with an additional 15 states and union territories receiving technical assistance for community engagement.

For the Unite to ACT project, REACH is currently recruiting for two Community Engagement Specialists who will be responsible for providing technical assistance to 15 states/UTs.

Specific responsibilities include :

• Providing Technical assistance to atleast 7 – 8 states to implement community engagement activities
• Facilitating identification and training of TB survivors in the states, in coordination with State TB Cells
• Supporting trained TB Champions to form survivor-led networks
• Training and sensitisation of members of State and Disitrct TB Forums
• Supporting states to engaged trained TB Champions in various activities
• Advocating with states to ensure that community engagement activities are reflected in the annual PIPs
• Supporting states to ensure expenditure of all budgeted activities related to community engagement
• Systematically tracking and documenting activities of TB Champions
• Providing any support to the NPMU in development of technical guidelines, training modules etc. as required
• Supporting states in the development of communication materials for TB Champions and affected communities
• Provoding technical assistance to the states in engaging TB Champions in trainings and other activities
• Supporting states to develop annual roadmaps for community engagement activities
• Advocating for scale up of best practices across the TA states, based on learnings from the project states
• Any other as required

Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:

• Post graduate in Social-work, Management, Rural Development, Public Health or related field
• Atleast 8-10 years of experience in the health or development sector, preferably at the national level
• Considerable experience in working with communities, particularly affected communities
• Experience in providing technical support to Government programmes
• Experience in and ability to manage multi-state projects
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced work environment.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, know when to act independently and when to consult for advice on decision-making.
• Ability to carry out online research, undertake literature surveys and develop drafts of strategic documents.
• A willingness to carry out a wide range of activities, including both professional and logistical tasks.
• Fluency in English and Hindi. Knowledge of any additional languages would be an asset.
• Willingness to travel across India.
