Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. Project Brief:

Co-Benefits of Large Scale Organic Farming on Human Health is a cluster randomised evaluation of Government of Andhra Pradesh's APCNF (Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming) programme. The evaluation will be conducted in select clusters of Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts. The objective is to assess whether APCNF reduces pesticide exposure among farmers and improves glycemia, blood pressure, kidney function, dietary diversity, household income, child anthropometry etc. The evaluation will be conducted in partnership with Rythu Sadhikara Samstha. The project location is Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Deliverables:

• Recruit participants for the BLOOM project.
• Collect data from participants recruited for BLOOM project at three time points (baseline, mid-line and end line)
• Carry out measurements like blood pressure, height, weight and length (children)
• Conduct hemoglobin measurements using point of care device
• Input the data using a hand-held tablet
• Liaise with village sarpanch, sachivalayam members and other key stakeholders
• Liaise with ASHAs and ANMs to provide medical care for those needed
• Regularly visit the BLOOM households for follow ups
• Attend induction and on-the-job trainings
• Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Qualification:

Desirable:

• Bachelor’s degree (Nursing, Lab Technology or in a related field.) or Multi-Purpose Health Worker (M.P.H.W.)
• Master’s degree (Social Work/ Nursing) or in a related field.

Experience:

Desirable:
• Around 3 years of experience as data collectors under field based rural projects. • Candidate has to be proficient in reading and writing in Telugu.
