About the position


SAB is looking for a dynamic and passionate professional for the position of District Project Manager (Pauri Garhwal), who is willing to work in Himalayan region on community based interventions. The candidate is expected to work on multiple aspects of the project including field work, documentation, data analysis and report writing. The engagement demands working on a UN funded project and will require close coordination with partner agency at Uttarakhand and India and US teams of SAB. The candidate will assist in the identification, establishment and coordination of other key strategic partnerships, including local implementing partners.


Skills required

  • Understanding of Uttarakhand/Himalayan terrain and past experience of working in the same geography

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of MGNREGS scheme in UK, program stakeholders and working model of the scheme.

  • Knowledge and first hand experience of field based tools including PRA, APPA, FGDs, SI etc.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) – able to coordinate with international teams

  • Able to coordinate the field work, documentation and other implementation aspects of the project.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and research tools

  • Willingness to travel to project locations (Himalayan region) for field work .

  • Willingness to adapt and work under a challenging and dynamic environment.

Experience & Qualification

  • Post Graduate in Development/Environment/Social Work or related subjects.

  • Min 2-3 years of experience working in Himalayan region on MGNREGS/community based interventions

  • Knowledge of climate change and resilience building works is preferred.
