Position: Reporting to State Project Manager, the person will be
required to do
Assist State Project Manager in the development, review and
revision of district wise action plan for implementation of
comprehensive tobacco control (TC) programs in the division.
o Provide technical assistance to
District Tobacco Control Cell for advancement of tobacco control
in the project districts
o Technical support to other
stakeholders including civil society, public health institutions,
media for tobacco control activities in the project districts
o Coordination and delivery of
face-to-face and virtual trainings as required under the project
or planned from time to time by State or District Tobacco Control
Cell or under the Project.
Implement an inter-sectoral coordination approach to expand
project activities in the project districts
o To liaison
with key officials of all the Departments related to tobacco
control activities and implementation of tobacco control laws in
o Develop and maintain close and effective
relationships with other agencies for their effective engagement
in tobacco control in the division
• Plan, implement and
coordinate a mechanism for advancing tobacco free generation and
effective monitoring of tobacco control laws in all the districts
of the division.
• Perform other relevant duties aligned
with the project objectives as required by Project
Director-cum-State Nodal Officer(TC), Government of Karnataka,
State Project Manager, and Deputy Regional Director - Tobacco
Control and Non-Communicable Diseases, The Union South East-Asia
Office or his/her assignee.
Essential: Post Graduate in Public Health
or Social Sciences or Management or Law or related field from a
candidates with at least 2 years of experience
• At least 3 years of work experience in the health
• Experience of working in the government sector
at National/ state Level.
• Experience in tobacco control
issues and knowledge about international/national tobacco control
policies and health programs will be given preference.
Age limit 40 years
Knowledge and skills:
Proficient in programme implementation with the active involvement
• Technically proficient in participatory
planning and developing yearly, quarterly plans with clear outcome
• Capability of carrying of trainings and IEC
• Ability to share programme thrust areas,
progress and outcome in the District Level/State Level meetings,
seminars & workshops.
• Interpersonal and management
skills with ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
Possess team working capability.
• Good command over
MS-Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and
• Good communication skills in English
and Kannada language, both written and verbal.
The gross remuneration budgeted for this position is
