Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. Project Brief:

Co-Benefits of Large Scale Organic Farming on Human Health is a cluster randomised evaluation of Government of Andhra Pradesh's APCNF (Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming) programme. The evaluation will be conducted in select clusters of Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts. The objective is to assess whether APCNF reduces pesticide exposure among farmers and improves glycemia, blood pressure, kidney function, dietary diversity, household income, child anthropometry etc. The evaluation will be conducted in partnership with Rythu Sadhikara Samstha. The project location is Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Deliverables:

• Supervise the data collection activity in the field
• Provide supportive supervision to the enumerators
• Plan the data collection under the guidance of the project coordinator
• Ensure safe collection of biological samples from the participants
• Update the daily number of interviews and bio-sample collection to the project coordinator
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to the project coordinator on field activities
• Liaise with stakeholders in the community
• Liaise with ASHAs and ANMs to provide medical care for those needed
• Liaise with village sarpanch, sachivalayam members and other key stakeholders
• Attend the induction and on the job trainings
• Travel as and when required
• Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Qualification:

• Masters in Social Work or other related disciplines

Experience:

Desirable:
• Around 5 years of experience in conducting and managing large-scale filed based surveys.
• Candidate has to be proficient in reading and writing in Telugu.
