Status: Full Time Employee

Grameen Foundation India (GFI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grameen Foundation USA and has been set up with the primary purpose of using microfinance and technology solutions to “enable the poor, especially the poorest, to create a world without poverty and hunger.” GFI provides several products and services in areas of technology, human resources management, social performance management and developing sustainable business models to social enterprises in India.

 

Reporting and relationships: The position will report to the Director Finance. The incumbent will be expected to work a typical work week of 40 hours plus any additional hours to get the job done. The position will be based at Gurgaon. This position will need to be flexible to work across different time zones and may require frequent domestic or international travel.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Facilitate accurate and timely transactions that will feed into donor reporting and other key donor deliverables.

  • Responsibility for timely accounting/reporting in compliance with Accounting & Finance guidelines, availability of supporting documentation etc.

  • Monitor project burn-rates.

  • Monitor compliance with grant agreements.

  • Managing budget, budget analysis, forecast and variances.

  • Ensure financial and other reporting systems are maintained to the standards required by the donors and external auditors.

  • Assist Director-Finance & Accounts in the preparation of budgets and tracking of the same.

  • In collaboration with Director-Finance & Accounts, develop and coordinate the project’s accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems, including establishing internal controls in accordance with GFI’s standard operating procedures.

  • Review of payment vouchers (for vendors, petty cash, provident fund, advances and their liquidation to staff and consultant.

  • Provides management & program staff with monthly reports and analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and implementation of external audit recommendations.

  • Undertake such other financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Director -Finance &Accounts.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with civil society organizations, project staff, and other beneficiaries.

  • Ability to work collaboratively between programmatic, finance, and administration teams.

  • Experience with donor finance reporting and ability to manage multiple donor project independently.

  • Proficiency in Computerized Financial Management/ Accounting packages, Microsoft Office

  • Experience of working with national/ international NGO will be given preference.

  • Experience in budgeting and budget analysis.

  • Expertise in financial ratio analysis.

Education and Experience

  • MBA-Finance, B. Com /PGDM-Finance, B. Com

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience working with both Not for Profit organizations and for Profit organizations.
