We are currently working with more than 10000 poor women families in the form of SHGs from the most backward and deprived families in 4 blocks (Ghanshyampur, Kiratpur, Alinagar & Gaura-Bauram) of Darbhanga districts supported by NABARD Patna, Mithila Gram Vikas Parishad Darbhanga & Global Partner Heifer International India

Job Description: FPO Accountant (Heifer Projects)

Overview of the role:

The FPO Accountant is the finance in-charge for the partners project operations regarding (FPO). S/he handles the FPO’s finance flow, processes payments as per organizational policies and procedures, and manages the FPO’s Bank Accounts and Books of Accounts. And give them handhold support in respect of Finance, compliance, and Accounting. This position has a single reporting to the partner’s designated staff, but FPO Accountant shall be regular in touch and aligned with Heifer’s Finance staff.

Areas of Responsibilities:

Accounting Records (Bookkeeping FPO)-
--Recording daily business transaction of FPO in Tally software (Tally ERP) in a timely manner.
--Ensure outlined procedures in the FPOproject finance guideline are adhered to while making any payments (or) receiving funds.
--Make necessary Sale/Purchase and journal entries as appropriate for appropriate accounting as per standard procedures of FPO Accounting.
--Ensure necessary documents are maintained for any transactions that are accounted in the software and share with partner organization as and when required.

Inventory Management -
--To make and ensure FPO’s inventory are in place and all incoming/outgoing are properly captured into the accounting software.
--Compilation of inventories of FOP and share it with the management.
--Maintain inventory register on day-to-day basis.

Assets Management -
--To make sure that FPO’s assets are in place and have tagged properly.
--Ensure Best utilization of company’s available Assets and allocation as per best business practices.
--Facilitate company for assets procurements and to make sure that processes should be aligned with FPO policies.
--Maintain Assets register and update it on real time basis.

Banking operations-
--Manage the designated bank accounts of project and maintain bank reconciliation periodically as per practice.
--Manage FPO’s bank account and facilitate/support FPO’s for New Bank Account opening/Signatory addition/deletion etc. This is an essential task for the FPO Accountant.

Financial planning and Monitoring -
--Assisting in preparing project and FPO’s budgets.
--To assist and actively participate in business development plan of FPO’s. Also work closely with FPO’s on their business development and future expansion plan.
--To enhance profitability of FPO’s the Accountant needs to handholds them through analyze financial data of FPO’s and give them inputs as per best industry practices.
--Prepare and submit grant requisition to donor agency on timely.
--Prepare and submit Budget vs Expenditure/monthly finance report and other’s report as required by donor agency in prescribed formats.
Compliance and Audit (Internal control)-
--Support FPO’s to deal with ROC (Registrar of company) in consultation with CS or any other pertaining TAX authorities. Make sure that FPO’s are following all the applicable compliances and all details should be share with the respective Tax authorities on time.
--Ensure legal payments such as TDS, Provident Fund, Professional Tax and Service Tax as applicable are paid in time and the reports pertaining to them are submitted on time. Adherence of FCRA compliances as per applicable.
--Manage and handle the ongoing communication with donor internal and external Auditor’s and build rapport as a single point contact.
--Coordinate in case of periodic audit visits done by internal/external auditor’s office to the project and provide them with necessary information, documentation as necessary for completion of timely audit.
Core Responsibilities:
--Recording Daily business transactions of FPO in accounting software.
--Inventory management into accounting software or any other specific format.
--Assets management of FPO.
--Dealing with Bank and donor’s internal/external auditors.
--Preparing financial record for internal/external audit.
--Managing compliances pertaining to TAX and ROC.
--Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts for the donor’s project. Adhere to policies and procedures as defined in FPO/donor’s finance guideline.
--Ensure all applicable statutory compliances are duly met and requirement of donor’s finance staff should be timely fulfilled.
--Travel to Field as per project requirement.

Candidate Must have:
• Hold a graduate or post graduate degree in Tax, accounting, or finance.
• Minimum 3-5 year of experience in the same field.
• Experience in financial reporting and working knowledge of Tally ERP and cost center Accounting. Along with it the candidate should have working knowledge of Assets and inventory management.
• Sound knowledge for dealing with ROC and other Tax authorities is must.
• Good knowledge of windows and Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Salary: 11550/- Per month.
