We are looking forward an FPO Manager for our FPO "Prabhavati Farmers Producer Company Limited" for Madhubani district of Bihar Under Bihar Sustainable Livelihood Devlopment Project of Heifer International India.

Job Description

Function:This position is for the FPO to facilitate overall market linkage,build productive relationship with stakeholders, capacity building of the team, mentoring of FPO’s Board of Directors, fulfilling statutory obligations, and plan for making FPO sustainable.

• Creating business for the Farmers Producers company and managing it successfully and profitably.
• Ensure project objective of making FPO sustainableis met effectively and within timelines.
• Facilitating and Strengthening of Farmer’s Producer Organisation (FPO) and its operations.
• Providing support for the functioning of the FPO as per the guidelines/MoA&AoA of the Producer Company.
• Develop Business Plan and mobilizing resources for the Producer Company & Implement the same.
• Ensure increase in top line (business turnover) and bottom line (Net Profit) of the company.
• Explore and pursue opportunities to raise debt and other finance options to support operations of the company.
• Manage company budgets, expenses analysis and cost control as well as key investment decisions.
• Develop and manage relationships with Heifer, bankers, VC funders, non-banking finance.
• Conducting marketing activities for generating new business avenues.
• Capacity Building of the shareholders and members of the FPO on various schemes offered by bank, NABARD, govt., and non-govt. agencies.
• To groom supporting staff and enhancing their skills through regular trainings.
• Participation in different conferences/ seminars / workshops / training programmes as per the need.
• Establishment of network and communication channelswith all concerned stakeholders
• Advocacy/ Liaising with government officials and Maintain excellent working relations with the PRI’s, Govt. line dept. officials and other key stakeholders.
• Report the activities and financial progress as per the agreed schedule or requirements
• Ensure adequate inputs for the periodic reporting and progress update presentations, success stories, anecdotes, and photos.

Education and/or Experience:
A minimum of bachelor’s/MBA/PGDMM level University Degree or equivalent and 4 years’ experience in FPO management and operations is required. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

Duty Station: Should be willing to stay in either in block or district headquarters whichever will be closer to the FPO office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
a) Have an interest in Marketing of agriculture/community development.
b) Proficient in Hindi, English and regional language, both spoken and written.
c) Excellent organizational skills including strong attention to detail.
d) Ability to produce accurate documents.
e) Computer proficient in MS officer, spreadsheets, electronic mail and internet.
f) Motivated to work responsibly.
g) Excellent leadership qualities and communication skills.
h) Ability and willingness to work with a flexible schedule.
i) Ability and willingness to travel extensively in the field.
j) Demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity.
k) Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork and cooperation.
l) Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and beliefs, and to gender equity.

Qualification & Experience:-
Graduate or Post-graduate in Business Management/Agriculture/Social Science/MSW with an experience of 3 to 5 years in an FPO or farmers based business institutions with exposure of rural based marketing of products,all business operations & statutory compliances.
