About the Programme: Since 2010 Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) is implementing Project ‘Axshya’, a large-scale TB intervention program for TB elimination strategies: Detect, Treat, Prevent and Build, with funding support from The Global Fund.  

As an implementation partner of the UNION, CHAI will continue to support National TB Elimination Program in 46 districts of Maharashtra and Jharkhand for period of Apr’21-Mar’23. The aim of the upcoming project Axshya plus is to establish resilient Axshya communities for TB-Free India.  

 

Objective  

  • Demonstrate implementation models, generate evidence, and scale-up programmatic management of TB preventive treatment.  

  • Mobilize resources and resourcefulness of various stakeholders through multi-sectoral convergent actions. 

Main Purpose: Responsible to implement general administrative procedures, documentation filling for staff as well as ensure compliance to the organisation HR policies. Support in supervising, organising and planning the project activity as well as bridging the gap where need for training is identified.

 

Reports to: Hierarchical: NPM and Functional: Senior Management Team

 

Key responsibilities:

 

The specific activities will include but not be limited to

  • He/she will be the focal person for all Axshya Plus HR related matters.

  • Put together and update the project’s organizational chart (organogram) & job descriptions.

  • Facilitating HR operational needs and the associated activities in order to efficiently ensure the required capabilities of the project.

  • Ensure recruitment, and induction formalities as well as contract amendments and termination for employees at project level.

  • Archiving and updating staff database- Ensure record keeping (employee files) and internal correspondence to boost active participation by informing staff their rights & duties to CHAI.

  • Monitoring and recording attendance, leave & payroll Inputs 

  • Managing performance appraisals, increments / compensation & contracts, to support the line managers to properly evaluating performance, identifying individual potentials and detecting training needs that contributes towards end results of project goals.

  • To implement organisation’s HR policies & processes: create and facilitate benefit for the organization and the staff  

  • Ensures HR reporting of the Project: Prepare and present HR Dashboard with data on new recruits, attrition, staff distribution etc.

  • Employee Relations and Query Management- In close collaboration with the CHAI Senior Management Team and PM work on avoiding and/or resolve possible conflicts in project.

  • Staff Engagement, Capacity and Coordination Building- Providing safe and interactive professional space for staff welfare, constructive feedback & appreciation and recognition. 

  • Disciplinary and Corrective Action, as needed

  • Ensure HR related statutory compliances in coordination with Accounts/Admin department.

  • Overseeing procedure are followed in cases ending or termination of the contract: Compete handover, full and final settlement including exit interview and attrition analysis 

  • Coordinate internship options of the organization with colleges, individuals & project teams.

  • Provide technical support to the project to draft regular statistical reports as well as informing the superior of any missing information, major changes or big differences noticed

  •  Any other tasks as required for a robust HR Department or as directed by the Director General

General: 

  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishment of new and different exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Undertake travel as and when needed for the organization. 

  • Be willing to work beyond office hours if required 

  • Be willing to work for any other activities related to CHAI’s Mission and Vision as required by the Director General CHAI from time to time. 

Qualification: Desirable: degree in finance, or related studies; Preferably MBA-HR                                                                                                            

 

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience. Desirable: experience of working in development sector or healthcare programmes.

 

Experience in leading teamwork, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Project Management.      

 

Preferences if any:   Candidate with knowledge in payroll management
