Position: Human Resource Officer

About NLR: NLR India is a branch office of NLR International with its headquarters at Amsterdam, the Netherlands. NLR India is working in 129 districts of seven states of the country- Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. NLR India’s work primarily focuses on persons affected with leprosy and lymphatic filariasis. Moreover, NLR India strives for a leprosy free India and society free of suffering due to leprosy and the disabilities and social exclusion that it causes.

This position will be based out of NLR India New Delhi office.

Key Responsibilities:

The HR Officer will be in-charge of the HR Department. S/he shall be responsible for the following:
• Lead on issues of Human Resource including Personnel recruitment & orientation.
• Maintain and update personnel files with reviews and key employee information.
• Manage Leave and Attendance.
• Ensure the implementation of the Organizational HR policies; and make need-based up-dations.
• Ensure the internal communication & understanding of employment policies, benefits; institutional values & rules; use staff meetings as forum for internal dialogue on HR issues.
• Use coaching and mentoring to strengthen human resource functions as line management roles.
• Lead staff performance appraisal, support staff training & development needs.
• Support in periodic audits with factual data of Employees.
• Conduct Exit Interviews and use the feedback for need-based revision of HR systems and policies.
• Conduct timely Team Building activities such as Birthdays, Interactive Energizing games.
• Draw up employment contracts and ensuring that they are adhered to.
• Follow fair and standard recruitment methodology as per the organization manual.
• Ensure that Background checks are conducted prior to onboarding a new candidate.
• Communicate /educate the human resources on their terms of contract.
• Develop and maintain the Human Resource Information System.
• Ensure that payments and benefits like EPF and ESI are duly made in conjunction with finance department.
• Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization, and to improve employee experience.
• Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and Organogram.
• Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor/ Country Director.

Qualification and Experiences
• Master’s Degree or higher in Management, social Science, Human Resource Management, or similar fields.
• Experience of 4-6 years in Human resource position in Development sector, preferably Health.
• Excellent teamwork/leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate in small teams and with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• High level of proficiency in English and Hindi.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
• Should have strong focus on quality and timely delivery of work.
• Well organized and efficient, with the capacity to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in using computer.

Type of Appointment
Contractual appointment with fixed term of 12 months. Renewal thereafter on basis of performance and requirements of project/ NLR India.

Compensation will be based on experience and qualification. On travel days, (S)he will be entitled for re-imbursement of hotel accommodation, plus per diem per the entitlement.
