1986. SHARE INDIA provides technical assistance (TA) to the
National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) through its
projects covering key aspects of the program such as infection

pediatric TB diagnosis and multi-drug resistant TB (MDR TB). As an
overarching element, SHARE INDIA also builds capacity of the NTEP
staff in effectively using programmatic data for
course-corrections. The above activities are funded by the U.S.
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) under Global Health Security
Agenda (GHSA) with an overall aim of expediting the national
efforts in accomplishing the goal of ending TB in India by year
SHARE INIDA with its Airborne
infection control (AIC) unit has laid the foundation for infection
control in Mumbai since 2016. The on-going COVID-19 pandemic has
highlighted the need of efficient infection prevention and control
practices in health care settings even more. The recent national
IPC guidelines (2020), Government of India (GoI) strongly
recommends implementation of IPC activities to minimize the risk
of spread of infection to patient’s/healthcare staff/community.
Given the context, SHARE INDIA is supporting ‘TB Mukt Bharat’
campaign with a focus on building the infection control units in
states across India. The state IPC teams will be trained,
mentored, to conduct periodic institutional assessment as per the
IPC guidelines. SHARE INDIA with the CDC will provide technical
assistance to the Central TB Division and states to expand their
infection control activities.
