The Project

 

Under a USAID grant, JSI has been mandated to provide technical assistance to the Government of India and State governments of select states to identify challenges and facilitate feasible solutions to address them to rapidly ramp up COVID-19 vaccination in the country, aligned with the prevalent Government of India policy. John Snow India Pvt Ltd (JSIPL) will be the lead partner to aggregate, coordinate, and support the National and State Governments with the technical assistance required to facilitate the scale-up of COVID-19 vaccination in the population, supported by several subpartners. The interventions will support demand and supply-side acceleration at the national, state and sub- state level. The technical assistance areas will be flexible and depend upon the needs expressed by the national and respective state governments and include but are not limited to supply chain, digital health, technology support, last-mile delivery, micro-planning, demand generation, data analysis, workforce expansion, and other areas. 

 

Job Brief

 

JSIPL is urgently looking for a Knowledge Management Specialist who will conduct research, produce reference resources and studies/ case stories, policy briefs, research notes for external communication and facilitate content development and engagement to showcase the imprint and progress of the COVID-19 Vaccination program(s) at the national and global level, through specialised knowledge or information led tools of Monitoring, Learning, Evaluation and Reseach evidences worldwide. The incumbent will act as a knowledge center who will synergize data and evidence into various types of knowledge products for targeted stakeholders, and coordinate its dissemination through various platforms that facilitate the productive use of knowledge resources by orchestrating the best practices worldwide that will help to augment the impact of M-RITE COVID-19 Vaccination Project. The Knowledge Management Specialist will report to the MERL Lead and will be based in New Delhi.

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • In consultation with the MERL Lead, plan, design and execute mechanisms, platforms, and other innovative tools to collect, analyse and interpret data and evidence to document best practices of the M-RITE COVID-19 vaccination project in India. 

  • Conceive, design and lead the development of various types of knowledge products based on data and evidence for targeted groups of stakeholders such as research notes, policy briefs, case stories, advocacy kits, review papers, etc.

  • Plan, design and implement agreed workplan for dissemination of knowledge products through various platforms – both digital and print documenting the best practices adopted for implementating the COVID-19 vaccination programme at national and global platforms. Analyze and consolidate statistics, good practices, and guidelines on knowledge management, mobilization, exchange, networking initiatives, and share to foster learning and raise awareness about vaccines.

  • Identify and stay current with the most prevalent and useful approaches to sharing and accessing knowledge about the promotion of vaccination in the country.

  • Coordinate interactions between project units regarding planning and implementing curation, mobilization, and networking initiatives through meetings, seminars/webinars, conferences, and monitoring project implementation progress.

  • Work collaboratively with the Risk Communications team to develop and execute a meticulous, structured, informative, and clear communication strategy to create adequate awareness and ensure accurate knowledge about the vaccine.

  • Support the project in development of annual work plans and progress reports for submission to the donor.

Qualification, Experience & Skills

  • Post-graduate in International Development, Social Science, Knowledge Management, Communication or related fields.

  • 7-8 years of experience of working in Knowledge Management or Communications working with the non-profit sector, in the public health domain. Experience in immunization will be advantageous.

  • Experience in designing and conducting research including large-scale qualitative and quantitative data processing and management skills; and designing research studies.

  • Strong track record of developing knowledge products for various stakeholders and experience of publication in peer reviewed journals. 

  • Experience designing and implementing mobilization and networking initiatives.

  • Experience designing and developing systemic tools on knowledge management, collaboration platforms, and community facilitation.

  • Experience drafting communication materials, case stories & analysis.

  • Advanced Hindi and English verbal and written communication skills.
