Background

Foundation for Reproductive Health Services India (FRHS India) is a registered not-for-profit organization operating since 2009. FRHS India is an affiliate of Marie Stopes International(MSI), a global organization providing personalized contraception and safe abortion services to women and girls. MSI’s local teams of professionals are passionate about the work they do in communities across 37 countries. The high quality services we provide, give a woman the power to choose if and when she has children so that she’s free to pursue her plans and dreams for herself and her family. Our mission is “Children by Choice, not Chance”.

FRHS India is the No. 1 non-governmental provider of Clinical Family Planning services. We provide quality family planning and safe and legal abortion services to women in need, through multiple channels that comprise of our own clinics, clinical outreach teams and public sector support to Government facilities. We are currently working in the states of Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in Public Private Partnership with state governments. In 2020, our teams directly provided family planning choices and quality services to over 146,250 clients that delivered a Couple Year Protection (CYP) of over 1.78 million.

JOB SUMMARY

This is a senior management position responsible for showcasing FRHS India’s work to strengthen existing and create new partnership. It leads Advocacy and External Communication functions which directly impact partnerships. As part of the senior management team, the position is expected to provide strategic inputs and support for smooth functioning of the operations and contribute to FRHS India delivering on its annual business plan.

KEY RESOKNSIBILITIES

1. Corporate Communication and Representation

• Collate, develop reports, presentations relating to FRHS India work and impact and disseminate the same internally and externally
• Ensure that all relevant data related to donor requirements is collected, donor reports are prepared and submitted on time
• Represent FRHS India and its work at external events like workshops, consultations, partners meet, etc.
• Develop, manage and update FRHS India website and social media presence
• Develop and implement a corporate partnership strategy to attract CSR funds
• Manage media relationship
• Works on newsletters, social media with the help of a team and independently
• Host events and showcase FRHS India’s work

2. Advocacy and Strategic Support

• Manage existing advocacy initiatives of FRHS India - Pratigya Secretariat and all advocacy projects, including managing website and social media presence; sub-contracts with state leads and organizing events
• Explore opportunities to grow advocacy portfolio including writing concept notes and proposals
• Provide strategic and operations support to Operations team and CEO in developing, monitoring and implementing annual business plan and long term strategic plan
• Supervise, support and manage team members

3. Lead the Pratigya Campaign

• Find Media opportunities for Campaign Advisory Group members for increasing visibility
• Manage coalition for social media events
• Manage Advance advocacy with legal fraternity
• Maintain government relations,

4. Donor Relations

• Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization
• Lead in writing proposals, concept notes, relevant communication and impact material.
• Set up and participate in donor meetings

5. CSR and Domestic Fundraising

• Lead in Identifying CSR opportunities for representing FRHS India’s work
• Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.
• Raise upto INR 50 lakhs under fundraising with ET

6. Team Management

• Provide strong leadership to Unit Team Members
• Ensure timely and effective performance management of direct reports
• Build and maintain a high performance culture across staff teams.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Master’s Degree – MSW / MA Social Sciences / Demography/Public Health.
• 8-10 years’ experience in leading Partnerships/Advocacy/Corporate communications portfolio, preferably in social development, health management/reproductive health or social business.
• Good understanding of Sexual and Reproductive Health situation in India especially Family Planning and Safe Abortions.
• Sound understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodology and design.
• Experience of commissioning and working with external agencies for research, advocacy and communication including designing, developing terms of reference, selecting external agencies, overseeing implementation, analysis, report writing and development of communication materials
• Strong understanding and experience working with qualitative and quantitative software packages
• Experience of working in the reproductive justice and/or international development sector
