In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of comprehensive primary health care, family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and noncommunicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and other anonymous donors.

Jhpiego under its flagship health systems strengthening project NISHTHA (funded by USAID), is providing technical assistance to the national and twelve state governments on strengthening the comprehensive primary health care by operationalizing health and wellness centres. To support the intervention states in TB elimination activities, Jhpiego is hiring for the position of MangerTuberculosis based at New Delhi for USAID funded NISHTHA project. This position is expected to provide high level technical assistance to the intervention states to strengthen TB elimination activities through HWCs and communities.

Purpose of the position: The position will provide high level technical and managerial expertise to shape the strategies and activities to strengthen comprehensive primary health care by integrating TB services within HWC platforms in the intervention states. This position will report to Chief of Party, NISHTHA.

Location: New Delhi (Jhpiego India Country Office)

Role and responsibilities:
• Provide technical insights and expertise on TB to develop and shape the strategies for providing comprehensive primary health care in NISHTHA states
• To liaison and support the Government at National and State level as per the need to develop and execute strategies for integrating TB services within the HWC platform
• Conceptualize and design activities/strategies towards strengthening TB elimination activities through CPHC for the vulnerable populations
• Take lead in identifying and nurturing innovative solutions for strengthening TB elimination thorough CPHC in the area of advanced diagnostics, latent TB, case management, treatment adherence, contact tracing, Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) activities and others
• Brainstorm and strategize interventions for TB and related co-morbid conditions including COVID19 through HWCs
• Support the project team in implementation of collaborative framework for management of TB in pregnant women
• Take lead in identifying and fostering partnerships with relevant organizations working in the area of TB elimination
• Liaison with National and State government, implementing partners and project team to take forward the NISHTHA project agenda on integrating TB services within HWC platform.
• Provide technical expertise in reviewing, developing the technical contents for communication materials, job aids, resource materials and tools for the community, healthcare providers and front-line workers on CPHC, and TB
• To represent NISHTHA at various forums as technical expert on TB at National and State level
• Monitor the integration activities for TB services within the HWC platforms in 12 NISHTHA states
• Provide technical support in developing various lessons learnt documents under NISHTHA project
• Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals

• Thorough understanding of NTEP-2025 policies and strategies
• Technical expertise on the TB disease spectrum
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders include national and state government counterparts, donors, development partners, field NGOs and civil society stakeholders
• Familiarity with technology enabled interventions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi
• Strong coordination skills
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in computers – Microsoft Office
• Ability to work with a diverse technical team
• Ability to multi task and work under multicultural environment
• Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of his/her time

Qualification and requirements:
• MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS preferred.
• Master’s in Public Health/ MD in Community Medicine/ PG Diploma in Health Management essential
• At least 7-10 years of experience of working with government counterparts and development partners in a similar role
• Prior experience of working with National TB Program at National or State level is essential
• Familiarity with the Indian health system, newer initiatives in health sector and relevant government policies/ strategies particularly under NHM, Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centers, etc.
