About the Organization:

International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) is a nonprofit scientific research organization dedicated to addressing urgent, unmet global health challenges including HIV and tuberculosis. Their mission is to translate scientific discoveries into affordable, globally accessible public health solutions. The global impact of their science includes fundamental contributions to understanding the biology of HIV infection, which IAVI and others are applying toward advancing vaccine science and immunology.

Position: Manager, Health Systems Research

Key Responsibilities:

Research:

  • Conduct extensive, multi-disciplinary literature reviews and surveys on key themes and topics of interest for IAVI in India and create informative summaries.

  • Ensure the highest standards for quality, in research, as measured through frequent stakeholder input and testing cycles.

  • Ensure robust methodological design and lead the development of study instruments such as questionnaires, interviews, discussion guides, and training sessions for field staff,

Data Analysis:

  • Work with the team to develop data evaluation and interpretation methodologies (qualitative, quantitative and mixed method) to enable evidence synthesis for decision making.

  • Facilitate dissemination of research results through creation of structured end-products (reports, presentations, research manuscripts, etc.) based on design thinking and presentation.

  • Identify technical insight and data source to help create, maintain, and update an interdisciplinary knowledge repository on advancements in health system research.

External Relations:

  • Engage with critical stakeholders and key decision-makers through research and technical assistance.

  • Contribute to development of grant applications and reports for donors in collaboration with appropriate regional and global teams.

Education and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in human behavior, public health, or related degree is required.

  • At least 6 years of professional experience with HIV, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender, Infectious Disease, or related field is required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency in qualitative research methodologies as well as collecting, transcribing, coding, and analyzing qualitative data is required.

  • Proficiency in analytical frameworks, statistical techniques, and knowledge of STATA and/or similar platforms is required.

  • Proficiency in N-VIVO and/or other related platforms for qualitative data analysis is required.

  • Subject matter expertise in HIV, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender, Infectious Disease and Global Health is required
