Position: National Program Manager


Partnership Development and Management

  • Lead efforts to develop and maintain a high level of support to the government for effective implementation of the statewide school and Anganwadi based deworming programs.

  • Coordinate with the Deputy Director - Programs and state teams to identify, engage and advocate with key stakeholders at the state, resulting in increased commitment to existing programs.

  • Represent organization in meetings and other events in India. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with high- and mid-level government officials and key stakeholders.

  • Support the Deputy Director - Programs in developing concept notes and proposals, budgets and progress reports as appropriate.

Strategic Planning

  • Work with state teams to design program components to align with Government efforts to improve and integrate program with a high commitment to quality and effectiveness.

  • Work with state teams to plan and organize a broad range of advocacy efforts, such as stakeholders meeting, dissemination opportunities for sharing program efforts and impact.

  • Work with Monitoring & Evaluation and state teams to build robust systems for field operations, including those related to drug logistics, program materials and independent monitoring.

Technical Assistance and Program Management

  • Work along with the team members for formulating annual work-plans and budgets. Review program activities and reports with state offices on a monthly/quarterly basis and identify and correct performance problems.

  • Review monthly financial reports from state offices to monitor progress on work plans and expenditures against budgets.

  • Manage state budgets in line with the organization’s standing financial instructions. Anticipate potential financial challenges and seek advice as required from the finance team.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Post graduate degree in social sciences, public health, health management or related disciplines. Minimum 10+ years of experience working with international organizations, particularly on technical and advisory services with Governments at national level.

  • Strong knowledge of public sector health systems and programs (preferred).

  • Demonstrated successful experience in leading and managing teams.

  • Highly motivated to achieve exceptional quality of results, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong program management skills and strict adherence to deadlines.

  • People” skills- the ability to work with a multicultural and diverse team with various levels of training and understanding.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong interest in the development sector and desire to be a part of a young and diverse team.
