PPP Specialist, Water for Women Fund Program (India)
RTI International has over 30 years’ experience assisting governments, communities, and the private sector. As a non-for-profit, independent research institute based in North Carolina, USA, RTI has roughly 5,000 employees with global experience implementing international development projects in energy and other disciplines. Around the globe, RTI International is involved in multiple efforts to provide people worldwide with the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) services they need. Our knowledge of WaSH extends from the elemental to the global scale. Our WaSH-related services are part of a broader environment and natural resources research portfolio encompassing climate change, food security, environmental and human health risk assessment, and waste management.
Water for Women is the Australian Government’s flagship WaSH program and is being delivered as part of Australia's aid program. It is supporting improved health, gender equality and wellbeing in Asian and Pacific communities through socially inclusive and sustainable WaSH projects. The India chapter of this program is being implemented by RTI International and we intend to achieve the program goals by enhancing private sector engagement in the WaSH sector.
One of the several initiatives which the program pursues, in India, is promoting recycling of municipal sewage for industrial applications in Rajasthan. Such initiatives reduce the freshwater stress of Rajasthan and also reduce environmental degradation. However, such projects have been far too few in India and hence, business models around them are yet to fully mature. This is yet another aspect this initiative intends to address.
RTI is hiring a public-private partnership (PPP) Specialist on this initiative for a period of 12 months (preferably, 01 Dec’21 – 30 Nov’22). This position will be based in Mumbai(initially work from home), India, but will involve travel to Rajasthan. Detailed COVID safety-protocols have been developed which will be relayed to the selected candidate. However, applicants who have taken both doses of a DCGI-approved COVID vaccine, would be preferred.
