Job Position: Program Leader for Brand & Communications

Location: Preferred Mumbai.

Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF) & Piramal Foundation for Education Leadership (PFEL) is a change management organisation that supports Public Education System Leaders in improving the learning levels of students by enabling people and embedding technology. 

KEF/PFEL was founded with the objective of strengthening the public education system of the country by transforming the new generation of leaders in education. KEF/PFEL’s goal is to gain expertise in leveraging multi-level partnership with state governments to catalyse the turn-around of failing schools.  

Function Overview  

Gandhi Fellowship Marketing and Recruitment Team has grown into a very specialized team that identifies and recruits prospective students, working professionals and young minds having a clear agenda to bring about positive and constructive change in our country. The team recruits passionate, inventive and determined youth from the top educational and corporate institutions in the country, who are ready to commence a journey of 2 years which includes rigorous training in the education field, while realizing what could be their 10-year plan of impacting a million lives. 

Fellowship Communications Team

Gandhi Fellowship Communications team is being developed and harnessed to establish the Gandhi Fellowship brand identity, salience and a high recall in its relevant framework, with 100% brand building focus beginning with top institutes of India. This team will work with and closely support the dedicated Program Managers for each zone and also interact with the placement cell, senior faculty members, current batch Gandhi Fellows, Ex-Gandhi Fellows to work out strategies for impactful activities, engagement and strong brand connect programs. The task is to finally establish Gandhi Fellowship as a preferred and top-of-mind choice for students and through it, help them to transform themselves and bring large-scale systemic impact. Also, set the standards high for Gandhi Fellowship and position it as the only program which gives a complete and the best platform for self-change to aspirants during campus recruitment drives.

Develop way forward for brand strategy including brand positioning, communication and develop useful and engaging content for different levels, audiences and stakeholders for strategic tie-ups. Understand and identify the role of brand communication and create solutions accordingly. Additionally, provide support for brand communication on a national cum zonal requirement basis.

The team defines an agenda of

1)Designing Brand Strategy and Penetration with special focus on brand visibility through content.

2)Support to national and zonal teams for brand communication interventions.

Therefore, the team looks out for professionals who combine the multi-skill and ability to think out of the box, creatively touch-base with the needs and pulse of the target audience and take charge of all brand activities best suited to the vision of the Gandhi Fellowship Program.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Take charge of and support top institutes in the country with all events and strategic tie-ups

  • Organise, coordinate and implement strategic tie-ups, engagement oriented initiatives and events in these institutes

  • Plan and execute communication strategy to achieve goals and increase brand visibility on different social media platform.

  • Curating and writing stories of current batch fellows, ex-fellows and designing social media campaigns to increase brand awareness.

  • Understand the need of such tie-ups and events and identify a repertoire of the right options for each institute or a group of like profiled institutes.

  • Understanding and updating of national brand strategy and its desired rendition in zonal perspective

  • Liaison with Zonal Program Manager for planning and implementing such strategies

  • Media Relations and ensure time to time coverage and presence in relevant media

  • Fellow On- board engagement programmes and their execution

  • Adherence to assigned SOPs

  • Create and maintain annual calendar of such activities and earmark dates and phases of implementation.

  • Take full responsibility of deadlines, timelines, correct execution, quality control and budgets

  • Play a significant role by taking complete responsibility of exercising budgets and working out cost-effective solutions and plans, with maximum visibility and output.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Timely coordination for designing creatives for execution.

  • Developing brand templates and successfully executing them in the respective zone

  • Monitoring and supervising all vendor related jobs and activities with special emphasis on precision, quality and costs

  • Developing SOPs for zonal profiles

  • Skilful management of all events, tie-ups and engagement programmes in these institutes

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Fine understanding of brand and brand tenets to ensure correct messaging and execution

  • Excellent communication skills including, writing, speaking, and making presentations.

  • Thorough in PowerPoint, excel and other basic software (preferred video editing )

  • Excellent Liasoning skills with internal team and clientele (the institutes)

  • Keenness to develop awareness and knowledge of institute profile, institute team profile and their sensitivities

  • Relationship Management with internal and external stakeholders as well as vendors

  • Thinking and acting on the feet

  • Meeting tough deadlines and crisis management abilities

  • Taking decisions independently

  • Strong in the people quadrant with highly developed interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Ability to develop content consistent with the Gandhi fellowship brand voice, style and tone


Minimum 2 years of work experience in Corporate or Development sector. Past experience in Leadership Development and Change Management.


Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline. Graduates with relevant years of experience may also apply.

Language Proficiency:   

Good Written and Oral communication skills in Hindi and English.
