About SAATHII and the Program:

Solidarity and Action Against The HIV Infection in India (SAATHII), a registered non-profit organization, envisions universal access to rights, health, legal and social services for communities marginalised on account of HIV status, gender and/or sexuality. Headquartered in Chennai, it has nine branch offices at Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, Jaipur, Ranchi, and Nagpur and Mumbai.

SAATHII is implementing an adolescent HIV project in Andhra Pradesh to enhance the HIV testing and treatment services among adolescents there by prevent new HIV infections among them. The project involves an initial four months of rapid situational assessment of adolescent HIV across state and districts of Andhra Pradesh. Based on the findings from the situational assessment, the project continuation through implementation of adolescent HIV interventions will be decided before Sept 2021.

Job Description and Roles:

SAATHII currently has vacancy for Program Manager to be based at Vijayawada and responsible for the program management work towards the situational assessment of adolescent HIV in Andhra Pradesh. The position requires program management experiences on HIV prevention/Adolescent HIV/Adolescent Health.

Reporting to: Lead Specialist, SAATHII

Consultancy period: June to Sep 2021

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Overall responsible for program management activities of adolescent HIV assessment
• Responsible for overall planning and monitoring and ensure achieving deliverables as per the plans
• Liaise with government for feedback on the assessment and getting necessary approvals
• Engage technical group/s of the government for all the activities
• Manage the project activities and support the team towards the completion of situational assessment at state and districts, data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting
• Develop final assessment report, and selected districts action plans
• Timely submission of reports to the funder and government


• Postgraduate in social work/social science/public health / management with 3+ years of program management is essential, and experience on adolescent health/HIV prevention/adolescent HIV is desirable
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and regional language of the state (Telugu).
• Proven management experience with strong analytical skills
• Sound computer skills, including use of internet and MS office software
• Willing to travel within Andhra Pradesh
• Strong experience of working with the government and stakeholders working with adolescents
