Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government development organization. AKRSP(I) works as a catalyst for the betterment of rural communities by providing direct support to local communities. AKRSP(I) is active in over 2400 villages of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. It has impacted lives of over 1.5 million people from marginalised sections of society. Over 80% of the households impacted by AKRSP(I)'s work belong to marginalised communities like tribals, dalits, and minorities. Over 60% of beneficiaries are women who form a core group for program interventions.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Support field team in developing understanding of technical aspect of Natural Resource Management

  • Conduct field survey, site selection, mapping, and planning of implementation.

  • Support in construction of structure to conserve water and reduce soil erosion.

  • Conduct training and workshops on water budgeting and planning with community.

  • Promotion and capacity building of user groups and provide training on assets management and maintenance.

  • Liaison with Donors and concerned Govt. Dept.

  • Procurement and budget analysis for implementation of program.

  • Data analysis and document the good case studies.

  • Monitor the program progress and provide valuable suggestion to team.

  • Conduct program impact studies and documents the impact. 

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Graduate or postgraduate in Civil Engineering, Agriculture Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or Equivalent


  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in relevant field will be given preference, Having extensive experience of working in natural resources management may also be considered.

Skills & Competencies required:

  • Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills, interested to work with rural tribal community,

  • In depth understanding of Planning, Designing and Execution process of development intervention related to forestry, water shed, Natural Resource Management, Irrigation, participatory irrigation Management etc.

  • Good Understanding of Data analysis and Report writings,
