Job title: Project Coordinator – Capacity Building

Department: Programme Implementation

Reporting to: Project Manager – PROTECT Project

Location: Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

Duration of the project: Till Dec 31st,2023

Grade: C

Salary Budget: Between 6.5 LPA - 7 LPA depending on the experience of the candidate and last drawn salary

Level Of Contact With Children: 2 – Sporadic or Occasional contact with Children

The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India’s Child Safeguarding & Gender Equality Policies.

Travel Requirements: Upto 70% of the time mostly in the project areas, occasional travel to other locations as per the need

JOB PURPOSE: The position will be responsible to provide capacity building support under PROTECT Project in a qualitative and timely manner, as per Plan India’s program standards and processes and in compliance with the donor requirements.

Background

Plan India is currently implementing it’s PROTECT project in states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The purpose of the project is to preventing cross border child trafficking and missing children, reducing the likelihood of, and empowering young children and their communities, in the fight against trafficking in persons (TIP) in the South Asia region. This project will directly contribute to the achievement of the objectives under ‘protection of vulnerable children’ program.

NATURE & SCOPE: The position will be responsible for planning, designing and operationalising the project plan by ensuring capacity building support to the state teams. S/he will work under the guidance of the Project Manager and Technical Lead and coordinate with respective state teams to ensure implementation of activities as per the action plan.

Specific Role: (1) The Project Coordinator- Capacity Building will be responsible for providing technical support through capacity building of district teams including key governmental and non-governmental stakeholders of state to achieve the capacity building objectives of the project.

(2) S/he with support of Project Manager will manage and provide technical guidance and project management support to the implementing partners for the initiative and activities leading to fulfilment of project objectives.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To assess the capacity of stakeholders in addressing the issue of Child Protection and Child Trafficking in the state/district and plan and ensure building of requisite capacities.
• To design capacity building plans/modules and sessions for stakeholders for addressing the identified gaps
• To ensure approved plans for capacity building of the stakeholders and implementing partners are adequately resourced and implemented.
• To facilitate the relevant stakeholders with increased capacities to use the RIMS system for collaboration of both state and non-state actors in repatriation of trafficking victims.
• To ensure that the commitments under Advocacy at the state and the district level are fulfilled as per plans in the stationed state
• To ensure that the Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) is implemented on the ground as per plans in the stationed state
• To manage relationships and work with implementing partners, district and state level government stakeholders.
• To attend and participate in relevant external meetings and build networks, collaborate with local and state level platforms/groups to create supporting environment.
• To ensure implementation of the project as per the timelines and agreed commitments to the donor including preparation of a detailed implementation plan with budget, regular review and monitoring of programme progress and expenditure status and suggested corrective actions as and when required;
• To capture and document good examples and achievements for sharing with internal team and prepare reports on key activities, issues and required action points.
• Provide inputs and necessary support to Project Manager in preparing donor reporting components related to influencing and advocacy.

Required Qualification and Skills:

• An academic qualification of Post Graduate in Social Sciences/ Master in Social Work
• 7 years of relevant experience in development sector is preferred with minimum 3 years’ experience in child protection and child trafficking programs.
• Relevant experience of conducting and undertaking capacity building initiative with various government and non-government stakeholders including Civil Society Organisations and Children groups.
• Efficient time management skill, willingness to work with tight deadline and ability to work in complex and diverse working environment.
• Good interpersonal communication and problem solving skills with fluency in verbal and written skills in Hindi and English languages. The knowledge of local language of the state will be added value.
• Well versed with computer applications, data analyses, Word Processing, Power Point Presentations.
