Hand in Hand, India: Job description for PROJECT MANAGER, HCL (based at Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, India).

Hand in Hand (HiH), India, is a public charitable trust working to alleviate rural poverty through an integrated process of promoting education, skill development, job creation, health, environment and holistic community development. Having started its operations on a humble scale in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu in 2002, the organization has now expanded its work across 10 States of India and its model of ‘job creation’ replicated in over 10 countries across the globe through its partners.

The 5 pillars or work areas of the organization are as follows:
i)Child Labour Elimination and Promotion of Education
ii)Self Help Groups and Microfinance for Livelihoods promotion and job creation
iii)Skill Development and Technology Centresfor bridging the skill gap
iv)Health for preventive healthcare and awareness generation;
v)Environment for promoting a clean and hygienic environment through solid waste management and natural resource management.

Additionally, a flag ship program of the organization, the village uplift program aims to create sustainable communities by integrating all 5 pillar activities of the organization in a village.

With a dedicated team of over 1447 employees and 54,642 volunteers, the organization is steadily moving towards achieving its mission of creating 10 million jobs by 2025!

PROJECT MANAGER, HCL PROJECT (based at Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh)

In order to promote women empowerment, financial inclusion and enterprises among SHGs of HCL Foundation, HiH India will be working in 4 blocks of Hardoi, India.

•The goal of the project is to train 1,000 rural, SHG Women and promote financial inclusion and entrepreneurship opportunities among 750 of the 1,000 trained SHG women.
•The scope of the Project is to identify the SHGs of HCL and train them in integrated aspects of SHG management; financial and digital literacy; enterprise development training; and provide them access to Government financial and social security schemes and access to credit for enterprise development.

To lead, oversee and coordinate this Project, HiH India is looking for a competent and committed Project Manager who will be based in Hardoi, district UP.

Key Responsibilities:
1.To plan, implement and coordinate target achievement of HiH India’s HCL Project goals in a timely manner.
2.To ensure process driven and timely achievement of HIH India’s-HCL goals of (i)identifying 1000 SHG women from HCL existing SHGs (ii) Planning and providing them training in 4 modules as mentioned in the Proposals. The modules will be developed by HiH India Senior team. (iii) Linking 750 identified SHG women with Govt’s schemes of financial and social security measures (iv) facilitating access to credit to identified 750 SHG women for enterprise promotion (v) Provide hand holding support to 750 women for enterprise promotion and access to Govt schemes.
3.To guide, supervise and monitor the work of HCL team towards achievement of results and support them in planning, strategizing and target achievement of Project goals.
4.To undertake regular field visits to the HCL-HiH India project areas to review and monitor progress and performances of HCL Project goals.

5.Ensure timely documentation and submission of MIS and reports to the Head office including documentation of case studies, monthly and quarterly progress reports.
6.To liaison with HCL team, village stakeholders, SHG women and their households for ensuring smooth and timely project implementation

1.He /She should be at least a graduate in Social Science /MBA/Social work from a recognized University.
2.He/ She should have a good understanding of integrated aspects of SHG concept, skill Development, market linkages, financial education, employability and entrepreneurship.
3.He /She should have good documentation and communication skills, both in Hindi and English
4.He/ She should have good networking skills and be able to meet stakeholders’ esp. the Govt and be able to forge partnerships and alliances.

Remuneration will be in the range of Rs 5-6 lakh per annum, depending upon the skills and qualifications of the candidate.
