TRAVEL
Willingness to spend 60-70% of time in project villages for official purposes

PROJECT DETAILS
The Project has a Goal of Promoting 200 women entrepreneurs to take up entrepreneurship opportunities by building their capacities through Self Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Centres.

The Project seeks to achieve the same based on progress around four interconnected outcome areas (1) Women participants adopt Self Help Group norms and are mobilized into collectives, (2) Women participants capacities are developed on entrepreneurship and enterprise promotion, (3) Women owned enterprises are sustainable and (4) Increased access to government schemes for women participants

JOB SUMMARY
PO-ED will lead the enterprise development and collectivization initiative in the project. PO-ED will support the achievement of the project goal of “Promoting 200 women entrepreneurs to take up entrepreneurship opportunities by building their capacities through Self Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Centres.”.

Working closely with other colleagues and partners, the PO-ED will be responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise development and collectivization strategy for the project. PO-EIG will implement the same strategy on the ground for accomplishing the goal of the project. PO-EIG will ensure that Gender strategy is included in all aspects of programming in coordination with colleagues.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and Studies
• Carry out specific studies in line with existing and potential enterprise enhancement opportunities and market linkages as well as SHGs and their status
• Support Gender studies and assessments in coordination with colleagues
• Map key stakeholders and develop engagement strategy.

Enterprise Development
• Develop partnerships with Government/private sector/technical institutions on various aspects like capacity building of various stakeholders (community cadre, entrepreneurs), market support, technical assistance, technology support, enterprise management etc.
• Work with Technical Support Agencies to meet project objectives
• Create a strong linkage and networking with all the relevant stakeholders and build partnership to effectively implement the project.
• Coordinate with government departments including TN rural livelihood missions, Yes Centres, NYKS and NSS for convergence and linkages.
• Build institutional linkages at district level with banks, incubator/accelerator programs, retail stores, e-commerce platforms etc for financial and marketing linkages to women-owned microenterprises.

Collectivization:
• Facilitate women to collectivize into SHGs that are monitored regularly.
• Strengthen existing SHGs for them to take up economic activities
• Support special interest groups to form for taking up economic activities and women owned enterprises

Capacity Building
• Facilitate to conduct entrepreneurship awareness and development programs for the beneficiaries.
• Coordination and implementation of multi stakeholder workshops on enterprise development.
• Facilitate to conduct EAP, EDP, mentorship programs to support women-owned microentrepreneurs.
• Facilitate to conduct sessions and programs to provide Business Support services for continued support and mentorship to women microentrepreneurs.
• Lead capacity needs assessment of other institutional actors, as per project requirements
• Lead development of relevant IEC materials, demonstration and extension designs, capacity building tools, methodologies and modules

Networking and Partnerships
• Identify and develop a mutually beneficial relationship with other networks, grassroots organizations and collectives.
• Actively participate in discussion forums, workshops, seminars, write shops and other appropriate events
• Coordinate with a variety of partners for ensuring alternative livelihood of the waste pickers.
• Enable waste pickers to access schemes and services.

MIS:
• Manage all MIS related to area of work.
• Responsible for analysis of all MIS data related to area of work.
• Responsible for judicious use of financial resources in the project.
• Provide analysis of project activities to Program Manager and colleagues as per requirement and reporting schedule.

Program Implementation
• Inform and guide the implementation colleagues and partners.
• Support and Guide Field coordinators and Community Resource Persons for effective implementation.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for project events across target communities as may be required

Other responsibilities
• Participate and contribute to the development of work plans of project and partners
• Contribute to the preparation of work plans and periodic progress reports of the project for the assigned component
• Perform any other task assigned by the line manager as per organizational requirement


KEY RELATIONSHIPS
External: Women- Community, SHGs, Specialist interest groups , Enterprises, producer groups, Local officials / officials and officials from relevant department

Internal: Regional Program manager, Hub Team and CIHQ Technical team.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Master’s degree in social work/Social Science/Development Studies
• Minimum five years of proven work experience in Enterprise Development programs, job placements and Livelihood initiatives
• Demonstrated experience in design and development of capacity building methods and tools, related to skill development and employment.
• Experience of working with SHGs for economic development is desired

Preferred
• Experience of working in a large project and as part of a diverse team

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Understanding of the social, economic and political context and status of Urban Poor (esp. women) in India
• Proven skills in enterprise development and institutional networking
• Strong training and communication skills
• Documentation and reporting skills
• Fluency in Tamil and English is essential
• Proficiency in the use of Windows packages- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet
