SPYM is a national organisation with a countrywide presence working in the area of health and socio-economic development since last above 35 years. SPYM is working in the domains of Health, Socio-economic development, Advocacy and Networking in the North, South and North Eastern part of India. SPYM has worked with Govt. agencies i.e. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India etc. along with Multilaterals agencies like World Bank, UN agencies like UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNAIDS, UNODC etc., bilateral agencies like DfID, USAID, CIDA etc.

State Technical Support Unit:
SPYM is setting up the State Technical Support Unit (STSU) for the State of West Bengal to support the State in implementation of Tuberculosis Intervention as part of National Tuberculosis Elimination Program. STSU will help guide the State TB Cell (STC), District TB Officers (DTOs) and City Health administrators in planning and implementation of activities leading towards TB eliminationas envisioned by 2025. Key areas of support are:
a) Support the state in implementing the engagement of Service Providers in private sector, NGOs and untapped areas.
b) Contract management with Private sector & NGO sector
c) Monitoring & Evaluation
d) Capacity building and Technical Support

SPYM invites application for the post of Public Health Expert – State Technical Support Unit (STSU):

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

About the Position: Responsible for use of Standards of TB Care in India (STCI) and assisting in the development of additional tools and enablers for effective involvement of all care providers and stakeholders in NTEP.

Job Responsibilities:
o Promote use of Standards of TB Care in India (STCI) in the state and assist in the development of additional tools and enablers for effective involvement of all care providers and stakeholders in NTEP at State.
o Assist State in development, piloting and the scale-up of operational models of Public Private Partnership in NTEP.
o Coordination with Medical Colleges, NGOs, Private practitioner, professional medical associations, corporate sector care and public sector care providers outside the Health Department.
o Provide TA to State for the timely and complete reporting from various public private partnership project. Also facilitate the compilation and analysis of these reports at the State level.
o Provide TA to the State for monitoring and evaluation of public private collaborative activities under NTEP in the State.
o Undertake any other activities as assigned by State in the interest of NTEP /TB Elimination in the State.

Qualification& Experience:
o MBBS with Master’s degree in public health/Community Medicine/ Preventive & Social Medicine/ Social Sciences or any other related field from a recognized University/ Institute.
o Minimum 5 years plus of experience in public Health out of which 3 Yrs relevant experience in Infectious disease.
o Desirable: Experience in TB programs, already located in the State of West Bengal.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities typically needed to perform this job:
o Good communication skills and proficiency in English & Hindi preferably.
o Proficiency in computer applications
o Ability to undertake & deliver on the above responsibilities and tasks.
o Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
o Flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a team and cope with pressure and challenges.
o Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work independently as well as part of an effective team.
o Willingness to travel extensively in West Bengal.
o Previous experience in the state is desirable.

Salary: Salary will commensurate with experience and shall be at par with current standards.
