Foundation for Reproductive Health Services India (FRHS India) is a registered not-for-profit organization operating since 2009. FRHS India is an affiliate of MSI Reproductive Choices, a global organization providing personalized contraception and safe abortion services to women and girls. MSI’s local teams of professionals are passionate about the work they do in communities across 37 countries. The high quality services we provide, give a woman the power to choose if and when she has children so that she’s free to pursue her plans and dreams for herself and her family. Our mission is “Children by Choice, not Chance”.

FRHS India is the No. 1 non-governmental provider of Clinical Family Planning services. We provide quality family planning and safe and legal abortion services to women in need, through multiple channels that comprise of our own clinics, clinical outreach teams and public sector support to Government facilities. We are currently working in the states of Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in Public Private Partnership with state governments. In 2020, our teams directly provided family planning choices and quality services to over 146,425 clients that delivered a Couple Year Protection (CYP) of over 1.79 million.

It is a learning position within the organization, where an individual with minimum 2-4 years of experience in CSR, fundraising, CRM, digital communications-fundraising, with an acumen to develop organisational fundraising strategy. The Sr. Program Officer-Fundraising (Partnerships) will help FRHS India increase the fundraising income to a minimum of Rs.20 lakhs from individuals & corporate sector in India, by scaling up existing activities, implement donor retention strategies and introducing new & successful fundraising channels within an efficient cost/income ratio.

The position holder will get an opportunity to work with Senior Management Team and the Executive Team to enhance the visibility of the organization’s work and bring out real life stories on the impact of our work on women’s lives. It also includes assisting the senior team members in identifying opportunities to present our work among donors, NGOs partners, Govt. and other stakeholders, corporates and CSR fraternity. This position will require very good communication skills (written and oral) and would need flair to do desk research on family planning and safe abortion. The candidate should be a keen learner, excellent MS Office skills, design softwares, secondary research, go getter and resourceful. Should be proactive, work with a lean team, and will have fundraising targets in annual assessment process.


Resource Mobilization

• Develop, implement & embed procedures & systems to ensure a cohesive & planned approach to fundraising activities.
• Undertake monitoring & evaluation of fundraising activities & achievements related to agreed targets & cost/income ratio.
• Analyse, implement & monitor new growth potentials by introducing new fundraising channels, up scaling existing activities & introducing innovative activities for fundraising to new cities/areas.
• Investigate & implement successful fundraising methods from other MSI Country Programs.
• Develop & protect FRHS India’s brand status.
• Organize or provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization
• Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.
• Generate fundraising ideas and able to forge and identify fundraising opportunities

Proposal Development

• Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization
• Assist the ET and SMT in writing concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission
• Should be able to write proposals, reports, with references and be a keen learner and should be a team worker, work in collaboration with Partnerships team and cross functional teams.

Donor Relations

• To provide assistance to the head or the board of the organization in identifying donor resources, raising funds and writing proposals for long-term organizational sustainability
• Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations, CSR organisations
• Keep an eye out for CSR opportunities
• Well networked with CSR fraternity and HNIs
• Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization


• Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for long-term sustainability of the organization
• Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization.
• Improve and develop communications material for the organization such as brochure, website, annual report, DVD, poster etc.
• Knowledge management by tracking new research findings in the area of family planning, safe abortions and share information with senior management and program teams.
• Works closely with Asia Advocacy and Partnerships Advisor and SMT for driving research, aware of the research tools, requirements, able to conduct secondary research, identify research partners, able to cull out and represent data.
• Research and establish linkages with potential donors/corporates. Share new ideas to develop communication products to engage with them in collaboration with the Partnerships team.

Support to Senior Management Team & Executive Team (SMT & ET)

• Works closely with SMT to identify, develop and disseminate corporate communication materials both external and internal, including creation and updating of contact data base
• Should be able to help SMT and ET with data and talking points
• Have excellent presentation skills, should be able to draft ppts at short notice, creatively and is able to support the SMT with all the presentation requirements


• Engaging with external audiences through social media platforms to share program related updates, maintaining the FRHS India website and other related links to showcase our work and improve visibility of the organization.
• Well versed with digital media, with focus on social media campaigns, behaviour change communication- generate awareness on safe abortion and contraception
• Work in collaboration with cross functional teams and Program Officers
• Able to design and drive newsletters, creative and well versed with designing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, Canva etc
• Support managing the Pratigya Campaign secretariat (FRHS India’s advocacy coalition) with the larger team and work closely with partners and relevant stakeholders
• Support the team in convening and organizing meetings/consultations, coordinating the meetings and follow-ups with various stakeholders.
• Travelling to field (at least 30%) to understand the program model and document stories/case studies to showcase the impact of program activities in the communities we work. (subject to relaxation from COVID)


• Relevant Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of experience in fundraising with track record of getting funds
• Outstanding English writing skills for a variety of platforms and audiences. (All applicants will be required to undergo a written evaluation as part of the recruitment process.
• Strong working knowledge of website content management, e-newsletter programs and social media platforms
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative research skills desirable.
• Innovative & strategic thinking but also hands on.
• Understanding of different fundraising channels like Face 2 Face, telemarketing, Direct mail, online, etc.
• Knowledge & experience of the donor community in India would be desirable.

• Experience working in the reproductive justice and/or international development sector.
• Strong creative vision for digital content and graphics.
• Comfortable interpreting and understanding program data.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop..
• Deadline oriented and well organized.

• Able to generate content in Hindi for various collaterals, including social media.
• Fast learner with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
