Doctors Without Borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters and exclusion from healthcare in more than 70 countries. Doctors Without Borders offers assistance to people in need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

Doctors Without Borders has worked in India since 1999, providing free-of-charge essential healthcare to people in remote areas; treatment and care for people affected by HIV/AIDS, malnutrition; hepatitis C, tuberculosis, kala azar and sexual and gender-based violence; an important subject for our action is containing effect of antibiotic resistance. We also respond to natural disasters and other emergencies, provides mental healthcare and advocates for the development of more effective and affordable medicines to improve access to treatment everywhere.

Doctors Without Borders was awarded the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development in 1996 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.

Doctors Without Borders India (DWBI) runs projects in the states of, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Manipur, and Telangana.

Doctors Without Borders India’s (DWBI) Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) project in MUMBAI - provides free, comprehensive and individualized treatment at its independent private clinic in Mumbai to people living with HIV, and to people with severe forms of drug-resistant TB (DR-TB). DWBI is running a collaborative project within NTEP [National Tuberculosis Elimination Program] for DRTB – patient management at Shatabdi Hospital, Govandi – OPD, and a community outreach medical and patient support activities in M/East Ward area. In addition, DWBI is providing, medical, psychosocial and “Infection Prevention and Control” support to the GTB Hospital, Sewri.

Accountabilities :

The Software Project Manager will be responsible to drive the planning, execution and closure of deliverables that involve the development of a digital patient support healthcare platform in conjunction with a third-party software provider in India. As a member of the -Doctors Without Borders (DWBI)-Mumbai office, you will be the main driver of processes, guidelines and templates that relate to these deliverables.

• Coordinate the delivery of projects and products using the appropriate Agile Software Development methodology, learning & iterating frequently in conjunction with end-users and developers.
• Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alpha/beta/production).
• Work with the end-users and product developers to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories.
• Support the collaborative, dynamic planning process as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Risk and issue identification and management.

1. Support the design process:

• Guide new ideas through an ideation and design process to ensure they are sufficiently defined to address MSF’s strategic goals and designed with the right stakeholder involvement.
• Coordinates closely with MSF Innovation Unit Case Manager and DWBI Patient Support Activity Manager to plan a deliverable’s execution, defining a roadmap while taking responsibility for planning the management of scope, costs and schedule.

2. Support the implementation process:

• Manage the execution, monitoring and controlling of each work stream using agile methodology of software development. This will include managing:
• Planned and unplanned changes, risks and issues to ensure rapid delivery based on a lessons-learned approach.
• Prioritise with external stakeholders with minimal disruption to milestones.
• Regular progress reporting & monitoring by using Scrum or similar practices, along with generating monitoring metrics and reporting
• Translate user reported software / process issues into detailed bug reports or as design suggestions
• Hands on software testing. Find bugs and create bug reports and
• Responsible for the creation of all beta testing, platform testing, test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and reports and test planning and execution.
• Develop QA goals, strategies, and UAT (User Acceptance Test)
• Ensure quality control checks are being implemented while delivering the different versions of the software

3. Support the handover process:

• Come up with a handover strategy in coordination with DWBI IT team and Epidemiology key contact, including development and implementation road map, initiation guidelines and support.
• Train the team in the use and maintenance of the software and brief on end-user technical requirements and troubleshooting

Qualifications: BE / BTech in IT or computer science

Experience: Experience in software development projects, role of delivery lead and Android application testing.

• Have been involved with all aspects of software delivery and life cycle, from inception phase to delivery. Successfully applied Agile/XP/Scrum practices and introduced Agile techniques and have coached teams to apply them Proficient in managing scope in an Agile project and facilitating the user story lifecycle in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including breaking down complex requirements into independent user stories, capturing detailed acceptance criteria, building a release plan with user, managing the backlog, running showcases.
• Prior experience with UX (User Experience) Design in the healthcare sector in India. Familiarity with current data protection regulations such as GDPR. Desirable: Familiarity with Public health systems

Total consultancy Fee for 6 months: INR 353,496 /-

Duration for the Consultancy: 6 Month’s

Estimated work load per week- 48 hours per week for a duration of 6 months
(This position requires to work as per working days / hours defined by DWBI for Mumbai Project)
