ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3), is a not for profit organization that improves the lives of women and girls in India. Through local partnerships and programs, C3’s proven approach to development gives women, young girls and boys the tools they need to improve their lives, as well as that of their families and communities. Our programs focus on increasing educational and livelihood opportunities for adolescent girls, ensuring access to lifesaving reproductive health information and services, and strengthening ability to become leaders in their communities.

C3 is leading Sakshamaa, an evidence to policy initiative that involves generation of robust data and research on diverse aspects of women’s empowerment, combined with policy support, and technical assistance to relevant departments of government.

C3 invites applications for a Specialist for its Gender Equity team, based at its Delhi office.

JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the intervention lead on diverse research initiatives, including plan, manage and execute learning and evidence generation activities, to support data-driven decision making and learning in the field of Gender Equity
• Apply knowledge of a diverse range of quantitative, qualitative and participatory tools to represent C3’s Sakshamaa initiative effectively to relevant networks
• Coordinate the analysis and interpretation of data from evaluations, surveys, and other sources to provide feedback on key learnings and insights
• Support coordination and liaising with relevant government officials, donors, and other stakeholders for advocacy and coordination of research efforts
• Design strategies and activities, meetings of expert groups, technical advisory committees etc.
• Technical support for implementation of state policies as and when required
• Development of briefs, policy documents, presentations, newsletters using the evidence generated for meetings, advocacy events, and media outreach

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

• Postgraduate degree in development economics, public policy, social sciences, gender studies, or related field.
• At least 8-12 years’ experience of working on gender issues with a special focus on gender and development, and in-depth understanding of diverse aspects of women’s economic empowerment
• Familiarity with poverty and social exclusion issues, knowledge of the work of women’s collectives/ Self Help Groups will be an added advantage
• Demonstrated experience of policy processes, coordination with policy networks, and working with government departments will be beneficial
• Experience of advanced data analytics methods and tools, research and evaluation design and methodological skills spanning a broad mix of quantitative and qualitative approaches
• Understanding and demonstrated experience of using evidence-based research, policy and campaign processes
• Basic understanding of results based management, M&E processes, quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
• Sound knowledge of national and state policies, and international commitments on gender equity
• Proficiency in using the MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Some knowledge of statistical (SPSS/STATA/Atlas.ti/Nvivo) and/or design software (InDesign/ Corel/Canva Pro) is an asset.
• Excellent command of the English and Hindi language, and written and oral communication skills.
