TB Alert India (TBAI) is a not-for-profit organization working with a vision to make India free from TB. It has a strong presence in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Panjab, Haryana and Delhi. All projects of TBAI aim at supplementing the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), mobilizing, and linking local communities in fighting against TB.

TBAI is looking for a highly motivated individuals with outstanding credentials and with experience of working in TB control. The project focuses on the elimination of TB while working with both public and private health care providers and patients for providing a comprehensive TB prevention, care and support services.

Position Responsibilities: To this effect, the State Lead will be responsible to provide continuous, end-to-end engagement of the public and private sector to provide quality TB services to patients seeking care.

The following are the major responsibilities included but not limited to;
• Overall responsible and lead the project implementation at the state level as per the project guidelines and action plan
• Function as Head of Operations team to implement the project and directly supervise district-level staff, including management, administrative, and field staff.
• Develop field level strategies and processes in alignment with overall project objectives with an initiative geared towards operational excellence
• Engage with key stakeholders who include the PR, State/District TB Officials and WHO Consultants and other concerned public and private stakeholders/officials
• Represent TB Alert India in all key state/district/city level TB meetings and trainings
• Coordinate and provide supportive guidance to District level staff and ensure monitoring of activities
• Provide technical and tactical support to the team to improve the quality of implementation
• Undertake regular programmatic reviews and support team in course corrections
• Support other state level staff in coordinating with NTEP State-level officers to ensure uninterrupted services to TB patients of both public and private sectors
• Backstopping support to District Leads in engaging DTOs and other officials
• Provide hand-holding and carry out team building activities
• Carry out monitoring visits to validate randomly reported data from the field
• Attend and contribute to donor review meetings
• Establish linkages and strengthen networking and liaison with government health departments, private health care providers and other stakeholders to foster support for effective implementation of the project deliverables.
• Preparation of work plan, budget forecast and management of budget allocation as per the project activities and guidelines
• Ensure functional coordination involving program, MIS and Finance team while planning, and execution and reporting.
• Ensure effective finance and Human Resource management as per the planned activities.
• Facilitate in monitoring and periodic review of partnerships with different stakeholders.
• Manage project deliverables within stipulated deadlines and monitor engagement activities with private and public sector
• Monitor and periodically assess the project performance and staff performance against the key performance areas.
• Review, understand and analyse the data and prepare the reports of project progress against targets as per agreed timelines to share with PR and NTEP officials of state as needed.
• Ensure submission of periodical reports (programmatic and financial) as per organization requirements and donor specifications.
• Function as the local administrative head for the project and be the authorised signatory/approver at the project level
• Ensure confidentiality and security of the program data and information.

Qualifications and Experience:

Medical degree preferably MBBS with 5-6 years of experience in the field of public health and project implementation;
Post-graduation in MPH/MBA/ MSW/M.A. Sociology/relevant field with 10 plus years of experience in the field of public health and project implementation and experience in managing field teams

Desirable Skills:
• Knowledge of development principles, development sector landscape and technical sector updates
• Knowledge on TB, LTBI (Latent TB Infection) and other co-morbid conditions like HIV and diabetics is desirable.
• Ability to guide and mentor large team members and provide regular support through field visits, trainings and during monthly review and planning meetings.
• Understanding on program planning, review and strategy development is essential.
• Experience of working with the National TB/ HIV program in a managerial capacity will be an advantage
• Building a successful collaborative relationship with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent understanding on local context, practices and ability to liaise with various health forums/associations for increased coverage for TB.
• Willingness, flexible and ability to work in a challenging environment.
• Ability to anticipate the challenges/issues and initiate appropriate actions.
• Excellent speaking and writing skills over the language English and should be able to understand and speak Hindi.
