MAMTA’s journey began in the urban slums of New Delhi in 1990 in the field of mother and child health and nutrition. In the last 27 years, MAMTA has evolved in to a leading, multi-pronged, national level in situation that is focused on empowering people and communities; building capacities; forging partnerships and alliances; building evidences on implementation as a science to advance policy and programme investments for health and nutrition of the marginalized.

MAMTA works through the mechanism of direct intervention, community mobilization, health system strengthening, networking and policy advocacy in close partnership with government and public health systems, civil societies, academic institutions, corporate sector and the community at large. MAMTA extends its work in four broad thematic areas:

• Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN)
• Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (YSRHR)
• Communicable Diseases (CDs) such as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis ‘B’ & ‘C’
• Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)

The organization has a strong team of 850 fulltime staff with multi-disciplinary senior and middle management teams. The MAMTA team, along with 136 NGO partners, is driving the health and empowerment agenda in India and across borders. In addition to India, last decade has observed spread of our work as a technical support agency to countries of South and South East Asian region as well. The State Team Leader for the state of Rajasthan is a senior management level position in the organization responsible for ensuring quality implementation of all interventions in the state by providing technical and programmatic input with focus on RMNCH+A component to the team. The State team leader would be responsible for representing MAMTA at various state level platform while building a supportive collaboration. S/he will in close collaboration with the National leadership and M&E team. S/he would report directly to the National Point Person for technical and administrative issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination and rapport building with State Government/ departments and developmental agencies
• Providing technical support to team working on health and development issue for quality implementation; documentation and its reporting
• Monitor all ongoing projects of the state together with the point person at the national headquarter
• Develop Annual Program Strategy for the state under the guidance of National Team and ensuring its effective implementation
• Develop and maintain the relationship with current and potential donors in the state.
• Developing concepts, proposal around RMNCH+A, HIV/TB, NCD and mobilizing state specific resources with focus on corporates and foundations
• Managing administrative and HR issues of the implementing team(s) as necessary in all State Programmes.
• Ensuring regular reports are submitted from the MAMTA-HIMC state offices and/or implementing partners, including all relevant management information
• Represent MAMTA in different state planning meetings and committees
• Lead or co-lead the proposal writing process with or without the technical support from MAMTA National team.
• Any other responsibility as assigned by the National Team to support of organizational mission and vision.



Applicants must be a Post Graduate/ Doctorate in Social Sciences in Public Health Management/ Social Sciences/ Social Work/ Population Sciences or a related field, from a reputed institute. Emphasis of working in Nutrition Programmes would be an additional qualification.

Applicants are also expected to have an in-depth understanding of Indian public health system, Policy directives, program implementation of GOI and states specifically in RMNCAH+ Nutrition and its linkages with National and International goals.


Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in the health sector with demonstrated ability in evidence generation, program/ project management and knowledge of Policy Environment, Health Systems, Programme Management, Analytical work and Concept Development.

Skills and Attributes:

(1) Experience in evidence generation, documentation and donor reporting.
(2) Good documentation and communication skills in English
(3) Experience in providing technical and administrative support to diverse team working on various projects/ site(s) and leading project team(s) independently;
(4) In depth experience in result-based MIS monitoring and feeding the outcome in program implementation;
(5) Excellent computer skills especially handling MS office with focus on excel and data analysis tools is essential.
