ALERT-INDIA, a non-profit organization is committed to improve the health and social status of people affected by leprosy and other communicable diseases with special focus on vulnerable groups such as tribal, women, children and disabled through people-centric disease control programs and community initiatives.

LTBI project
ALERT INDIA has been awarded a project on controlling the Latent TB Infections in four districts of Gujarat. India, with one-fourth of the global burden of TB, is estimated to have around 40% of the total population infected with TB. The lifetime risk of reactivation of the infection in healthy individual is 10%, with 5% developing TB disease during first 2 to 5 years after the infection. Treating 40% of the population after having determined the infection through appropriate tests and consultation is neither feasible nor rational or practical approach, thereby, emphasizing a need for a strategy to control the dormant infection and never let it grow into a full fledge TB disease.
In order to achieve the above, LTBI project has been introduced with funding from “Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria “(GFATM) having William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF) & Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) as the Principal Recipient (PR) and ALERT INDIA as the Sub Recipient (SR) for the grant.

The Job
In close coordination and consultation with the State TB Department and District TB Office, Jamnagar, ALERT INDIA is committed to initiate the implementation of the LTBI project in Jamnagar district. In that reference, ALERT INDIA is planning to hire individuals in various capacities to implement, monitor, supervise and manage project implementation in the district and therefore

Applications are invited for the following post;

• Counselling of Patients and their family members on health-related issues through tele-calling
• Collect qualitative feedback through tele-calling to patients as per the shared list
• Collect service level feedback from patients
• Follow-up with default patients on diagnostic voucher redemption
• Follow-up with on-treatment patients to track, health of the patients as well as drug-adherence
• Ensure daily tele-call averages are being met
• Schedule calls in such a way so as to help LTBI coordinators to plan in-person visit to patients’ home
• Ensure daily call average of in-person counsellors are being met
• Provide feedback on data quality of patients’ detail being received via public as well as private
• Perform other duties as assigned by the District Lead and other seniors

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Graduation in any stream from the recognized university
• Experience in working with frontline workers at block and sub-block level
• Excels in using MS office and web-based information systems
• Ability to make calls for 7 – 8 hours a day
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a diverse culture. Tolerance to working with people from other faiths
