Job Description/ Responsibilities

The Training & Capacity Building Associate will work under the overall supervision and guidance of Special Director, National Tribal Research Institute and report to his/her designate for day-to-day functioning and in close consultation with National Programme Officer, UNDP.

The Training & Capacity Building Associate will perform the following functions:

  • Contribute to overall vision related to training and capacity development of NTRI;

  • Prepare action plan and training calendar to fast track implementation training and capacity building agenda of NTRI;

  • Assist in implementing training and capacity building activities including creating a cadre of master trainers in different domains of tribal development;

  • Support in creation of a pool of resource person/master trainers in different subjects/domains;

  • Create a database of training programmes organized and trainees trained in different domains in ICT based application;

  • Assist in preparation and review of training resource materials (modules, manuals, SOPs etc.) catering to the training needs of different stakeholders;

  • Coordinate with Ministry of Tribal Affairs, State Tribal Research Institutes, Centre of Excellence and other training organizers for organizing training programmes for tribal development;

  • Support in development of tools and assist in conducting quality assessment/evaluations of different training programmes;

  • Support in documentation of various training programmes;

  • Contribute in drafting op-ed/policy briefs/factsheets/working paper series to undertake advocacy in different areas of tribal development;

  • Contribute to any other activity related to training and capacity building, as instructed by the supervisor;

  • Maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders;

  • Strong motivation and ability to work and deliver under short deadlines;

  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive desired attitude;

  • Perform any other tasks assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Management, Rural Development, Social Work, Public Policy, Sociology from recognised national/international institutions

Experience:

  • A Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience of working in the field of tribal development, rural development and governance;

  • Relevant experience of conducting training programmes in development sectors with specific focus on tribal issues;

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing training resource materials;

  • Hands on experience of conducting online training, webinars, conducting multi-location simultaneous training would be desirable;

  • Sound knowledge of various protective legislation for tribal communities (Forest Rights Act, PESA, SC & ST Atrocity Act etc.)

  • Good understanding of tribal development related schemes and legislations;

  • Domain knowledge in areas like governance, convergence, tribal affairs, social justice and social inclusion.

Language requirements:

  • English and Hindi.
